About CopyTidy

A toolkit for the gap between “copy” and “paste”.

Text picks up damage in transit. PDFs add a line break after every visual line and split words with hyphens. OCR adds uneven spacing on top. Emails wrap quotes into staircases of fragments; web pages bring stray whitespace along for the ride. Everyone who works with sources — students, researchers, writers, engineers — loses minutes to this, many times a week.

CopyTidy exists to absorb that cleanup. Each tool is a small set of deterministic repair rules that runs entirely in your browser: same input, same output, every time. Nothing is rewritten, nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored. We do not upload or store your text.

The first tool, Fix Messy Text Copied from PDFs, handles the most common case. Further copied-text tools will be added over time.
